Director of Finance & Operations

The Jones Group, an Atlanta based creative agency with national clients is seeking to add an ambitious and high-energy individual to its senior management team. The Director of Finance and Operations will lead all operational and administrative aspects of the company. He/She will have total fiscal accountability for the entire agency and will report to the President. They will be responsible for managing finance and accounting and other operations functions of the organization, including:

Strategic Planning, Operations and Performance Management

  • Manage with a profitability focus, budget and forecasting, financial reporting, billing and collections, accounts payable, general accounting procedures, tax coordination and preparation, and liaison to external CPA’s, and bankers.
  • Lead the development of the annual budget and operating plan that fully supports The Jones Group’s strategic and financial goals
  • Develop, establish, and direct execution of operating policies to support overall company policies and processes
  • Develop and implement profitability management processes, including billing metrics and expense control
  • Approves administrative purchases and service contracts working to obtain competitive bids and stay within budget plans
  • Establishes and oversees agency records maintenance procedures to ensure all business operations information is correct and readily available
  • Coordinates agency legal activities such as consultation as needed, involvement with all legal contracts and documents from initiation through to execution and file management
  • Manages all facilities issues including: repairs and maintenance, office equipment, and coordination with vendors
  • Communicates regularly with CEO and management team to ensure that office needs are met
  • Train new employees on time tracking and project management software
  • Handle day to day office management such as maintenance requests, office supplies, etc.
  • Supervise the Office Manager and their tasks. Create Development plans for the role.

Financial Management and Accounting

  • Coordinates and inputs all agency payroll processes with outside vendors including but not limited to: time sheets, management of variances, PTO administration, management of hourly rates, coordinating with payroll vendors, payroll tax oversight, coordination with bankers
  • Manage and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
  • Oversight of Accounts Receivable cycle management
  • Prepare invoices
  • Prepare weekly financial forecasts
  • Prepare and issue tax documents including 1099s
  • Interface with company’s CPA on tax matters including yearend taxes.
  • Maintain and suggest improvements to the company budget.
  • Responsible for maintaining balance integrity on General Ledger
  • Handle all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable including all transactions, deposits, information, and conversations in correlation with.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll including any payroll tax reporting and returns.
  • Handle and produce month end reporting and processes such as all financial statements, month end close, cash forecast, budget variances, miscellaneous analysis, client profitability, and project level reporting.
  • Reconcile bank account statements to general ledger accounts monthly.

HR and Administration

  • Responsible for HR functions within the agency including but not limited to: screening, hiring, terminations, personnel file management, group benefit program management, compliance with all federal, state, and local HR related laws.
  • Manage HR employee benefits and policies for 20 employees
  • Responsible for new employee documentation and maintain all personnel files including employee attendance, vacation and sick pay, insurance enrollments, etc.
  • Responsible for all company and employee insurances

Position Requirements

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university. 4 to 6 years experience working for an agency preferred.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi task, manage complex workload and handle pressure. Proficient with Workamajig software a plus.

The Jones Group, a multi-discipline marketing and communications agency with national clients is currently offering a design manager position and is seeking a creative, organized and self-motivated designer to work on high-profile branding campaigns, national sales collateral and world class websites.

Responsibilities
- Concept development, design, production and project management of visual marketing initiatives in all mediums: interactive, print and environment.
- Ability to create highly conceptual visual solutions, have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Skills
- Candidates should have a passion for design, be it blogging or having an online presence in the community, and be familiar with the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Adobe After Effects, Adobe Flash and Final Cut Pro knowledge a plus.
- Must have strong conceptual, problem solving skills and interest in all aspects of design; brand identity, interactive applications, web video, etc.
- Good organization skills and the ability to work closely with the creative team and Art Director.
- Strong understanding of print production and Mac Operating System required.
- Ability to create highly conceptual visual solutions, have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Education
Position requires 3 to 5 years experience, and a four-year college degree required.

Web Developer Intern

Do you eat, sleep and dream in ones and zeros? Do you want to work for an award winning marketing and communications firm with an array of national clients? The Jones Group is currently offering a Web Application Developer Internship and is seeking a creative, organized and self-motivated developer to assist our creative and interactive teams.

Important attributes: Promising problem analysis and decision making ability; attention to detail; willingness to experiment, learn, and grow with emerging standards and practices; ability to recognize and adapt to changing conditions, including redefining his or her responsibilities as appropriate.

We are looking for someone that is familiar with HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript.

Preferably at least 1 active year of experience in development with and prepared to provide examples of their work.

Attention to detail and devotion to W3C standards with a desire to give the best quality work at all times.

Familiarity with Zend Framework 1.10+, YUI 3.0+, jQuery, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla or active participation in an open source community is also a plus.

This is a paid internship and the right candidate must be able to work between 32 and 40 hours a week.
